USD 249, Frontenac is the heart of a very caring and supportive community.
Frank Layden Elementary is the K-5 component of the Frontenac USD 249 school system. This is where the foundation is laid for the success of our Frontenac kids for the rest of their academic career. The staff at Frank Layden Elementary takes great pride in this very important responsibility.
We offer full day kindergarten and a rigorous but challenging curriculum aligned to the state standards. Research based programs are at the core of our success. In its ninth year, Success for All allows our students to receive instruction in smaller student-teacher ratios and they are grouped by reading ability.
Everyday Math is our mathematics program and our students are excelling on the State Math Assessments because of its implementation.
Most important of all is our staff. Every staff member at Frank Layden Elementary puts children first. We teach to the individual.
Frank Layden Elementary strives everyday to do what is best for kids, all kids.
