by Paula Ketterman

September 04, 2008

As you enter your second year of high school, it is important to continue planning for life after high school. Planning for after high school is a process. There are activities you can do now.

This year is a good time to evaluate your career path by exploring careers and learning more about yourself. What are your interests? What is important to you? It is important to have a path to follow that will guide your decisions in high school. The preparation, activities, community service, academics and jobs you have now will ensure you are ready to graduate.

Students can access career information in the Occupational Outlook Handbook which is found at www.bls.gov/oco or at the ACT web site, www.actstudent.org.

All sophomores will take the PLAN test which is part of the ACT testing program this Fall. Results will include career information and academic information.
