Federal Financial Aid-Seniors

In order to file for financial aid for post-secondary institutions online, students and their parents must each apply for a pin number.  This serves as an electronic signature.  Seniors and their parents are encouraged to apply for a pin number before January.  Go to www.pin.ed.gov to apply.

The federal financial aid form for student aid (FAFSA) is available in January.  This is the form used by students to apply for grants, loans and work study programs.  Most colleges require students to file a FAFSA.  The priority deadline for the FAFSA at most colleges is March 1; however you may file anytime after January 1.  You need your previous year tax information.  Students file online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.  This is a free application.
