Financial Aid Information

By Paula Ketterman

August 26, 2009

Filing an application for federal financial aid is FREE, so there is no reason not to apply. This application will determine your need for grants, loans, and work study programs.

Most colleges require students receiving any scholarships to file the FAFSA also. Financial aid for the 20010-11 school year will be based on the student's and parents/guardians 2009 income (2009 INCOME TAX RETURNS WILL BE NEEDED.)

Financial Aid forms are available in January. The FAFSA form is available on-line. (www.fafsa.ed.gov)

There is a meeting for parents and seniors to discuss financial aid in depth in January. Until then, use the web resources available to learn more about financial aid options and check out the financial aid calculators.
