The Community Health Dental Clinic of Southeast Kansas provides on-site school based dental services for children pre-K through 12th grade at no expense to schools or out-of-pocket cost to a child’s parent or guardian. These services are provided by a licensed dentists and hygienists specially trained to work with children.
Services range from a quick screening meeting the requirements of Kansas Statute 72-5201 requiring all children to have a dental exam annually. Most students see their primary dentist every six months and parents may decide not to participate. This is a service that screens students who may not see a dentist annually.
Forms for the dental screening as well as forms for cleaning, fluoride treatment or dental sealant are located on the USD 249 web site. These procedures will be done at school. Also a form for insurance information is included.
The all-school dental screening will be on March 12, 2018, and all other procedures will be done on March 13, 2018 through March 16, 2018 depending on how many students participate.
