Frontenac Schools are following the health guidelines set by the USD 249 Frontenac School Board, the Crawford County Health Department, and KDHE. Due to excessive absences because of COVID and other illnesses, and an increase in staffing concerns, USD 249 will close school on Thursday, January 13 and Friday, January 14. Monday, January 17 is a scheduled professional development day, therefore students will return to school on Tuesday, January 18. The district will take this time to disinfect and deep clean the campus.
All activities will be cancelled until Tuesday, January 18, and all facilities will be closed until staff returns for professional development on Monday, January 17.
Our junior high and high school have reached the 6% threshold for requiring masks. Starting on Tuesday, January 18 through Friday, January 21 all junior high and high school students will be required to wear a mask during the school day.
